No Flexicoat is virtually odourless being completely VOC free.

FLEXICOAT is a water-based liquid-rubber coating that cures to form a flexible, waterproof membrane. It is designed to move and bend with the surface rather than becoming hard and brittle.

No. An etcher is not normally required. The surface must still be clean, dry and free from oil, grease and loose contamination.

Polypropylene plastic can be difficult because of its low surface energy and manufacturing oils. Newly tanalised or heavily oil-treated timber can also prevent adhesion. Allow treated wood to weather thoroughly and always test first.

FLEXICOAT can be applied to a sound asbestos-cement roof, but asbestos must be treated with great care. Do not sand, scrape, drill, cut or pressure-wash asbestos-containing sheets, and do not walk on fragile roofing. Wear the correct protective equipment and have the roof assessed and prepared by a competent asbestos professional before coating.

It is brown when first applied and cures to a satin-black finish. Full cure normally takes around 24–48 hours, depending on the thickness applied, temperature, humidity and airflow. It always remains flexible once cured.

Water can temporarily make the cured surface appear brown again. This is normal and the colour should gradually fade back to satin black over the following few weeks. Allow the coating to cure fully before refilling, and keep fish or other aquatic life away until it has cured.

Wash tools with fresh water while the coating is still wet. A little detergent can also be used. FLEXICOAT may stain light-coloured brush fibres or rollers black, so do not later use stained tools for pale decorative paints.

The advertised coverage is approximately 2.2 m² per tub. A customer applying a very thin coating may achieve up to around 4 m², while a thicker or textured application may cover less. One complete coat can form a watertight barrier, but thin, even layers are preferable to one very thick layer.

Up to three years when the tub is kept sealed and stored in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures.

Yes, but use a flexible paint. FLEXICOAT continues to move and bend, so a rigid or brittle topcoat—particularly an unsuitable solvent-based coating—may crack.

Yes. Make sure the lead is sound, clean, dry and completely free from grease, oil, dirt and loose material. Test a small area first if the surface has an unknown treatment or previous coating.

Flexicoat can be applied by brush, roller or squeegee.

Flexicoat take between 24 to 48 hours to fully cure but is touch dry in around 3-4 hours.

Great product

After much searching for a product to replace a not happy with pond liner I came across flexi-coat. Seemed quite good in the reviews and online videos so I thought I'd give it a go. I was never happy with all the creases in the pond liner previously fitted so aesthetically this would also improve the appearance.
I made sure the whisky barrel was dry and dust free then started applying thin coats as directed by customer services. It does stay slightly soft but they said this was a characteristic of the product. Six coats later and its better than it ever was. No leaks and much better on the eye.
Only time will tell if this is as good as it makes out.....

FLEXICOAT is water-based, so brushes should be washed thoroughly with warm, soapy water immediately after use. Once the product begins to dry and cure, it becomes waterproof and can be much more difficult to remove.

Arrived on time, i water proofed a half whiskey barrel to make a water feature out of it. Folowed the instructions on the tin and gave the inside 3 coats leaving to dry 6 hours or more between them. Works a treat no leaks whatsoever, very pleased. Obviously time may tell but i'm confident it will last. Highly reccomend this product

Fixed my fish pond leak

My fish pond formed a leak that could not be found between the rocks, concrete and rubber liner. I coated the whole area upto the water line using wadding in the cracks and crevices. Pleased to report the leak was resolved and the water level means that the black compound can not be seen. Buying direct from the manufacturer provided the best price. I have no doubt this will provide a great watertight seal on exterior surfaces.

late review

a little late in reviewing but i have just finished a large concrete fish pond . Great products easy to use tape goes on easy and seems to do the job perfectly (3 quite large cracks ) Liquid easy to apply first coat took a bit of time as the concrete seemed to seal, but the second coat was a doddle. Good delivery well packaged well recommend the product and the company

Works a Treat

Used it in my pond to make sure there was a seal between the stone wall and the liner. Painted on two coats. Allowed 12 hrs to set off, topped up the pond and checked it after 3 days. No water loss. Great. Job done. Excellent product. Recommended.

Can't be bettered

Used on roof of new shed to keep it in good repair and then painted the walls in a well known garden product . Many many years later roof of shed wearing well but not walls. We bought a new shed and used FlexiCoat on walls and roof - boy does this do the job. We have since used it on fencing and this is still good even after putting a colour on top. I intend to do other work in the garden and have recently purchased more as sometimes not in stock . Excellent product and well worth the money and wouldn't buy anything else.

Not as good as we are meant to believe!

Bought the product from the supplier after watching a VT of it being applied on QVC as it 'appeared to be just what I was looking for'!
Waited for ideal weather so that I could apply it to my sheb roof as it was becoming a little porous. Cleaned the area that need covering with the product and it went on fairly good using both brush and roller. Come the wet weather and yes, you have guessed it, in came the rain, albeit not quite as bad as it was previous but none the less it failed to stop the rain. I also tried the ' cardboard box test by covering the inside of the box with the product - layered it on thick on both base and walls of the box and left it a couple of days for it to cure before placing some water inside of the box - yet another let down!

Have to say that based on my own findings, I couldn't recommend it to anyone else.
