Description

Blackout can be applied onto Steel, Wood, Aluminium, Plastics, Copper, Carbon Fibre, Ceramics, Stone, Brick, Glass and more!

Blackout is designed to convert rust into a stable compound and prevent further corrosion on metal surfaces. It is particularly useful for surfaces that already have rust or corrosion, as it chemically reacts with iron oxide (rust) and transforms it into a protective layer. Once applied Blackout is touch dry in just 30 minutes with full cure time taking around 24 hours.

Chemical Conversion: Blackout contains an active ingredient that chemically reacts with the iron oxide in rust, converting it into a more stable compound.
Stabilizes Rust: The chemical reaction transforms the rust into a black or dark blue substance, often referred to as ferric tannate or iron phosphate. This stable layer helps prevent further oxidation, effectively halting the progression of rust.
Primer Properties: Blackout works also as a primer. Once the rust is converted, the paint provides a primed surface suitable to be over painted with another paint type.
Easy Application: Blackout is typically easy to apply with a brush or roller. It can be used on various metal surfaces, including iron, steel, but also on plastics, wood, glass and more.
Versatility: Blackout is versatile and can be used in various sectors, such as automotive, fences, railings, machinery, woodwork, DIY, garden & craft. Blackout can withstand temperatures of -40c to +240c
Long-Term Protection: When used properly, Blackout can offer long-term protection against rust formation. However, it's essential to follow the instructions regarding application. Blackout will remain permanently flexible and resistant to further cracking.

Q: How Long Does Blackout Take To Dry?	A: Blackout is touch dry in just 30mins with full cure taking around 3 hours
Q: How so you apply Blackout paint?	A: Blackout can be applied by either brush or roller
Q: Does Blackout have a strong odour?	A: No Blackout has very little odour due to the low content of VOC's present.
Q: How long does Blackout last once opened?	A: Blackout will last around 3 years once opened. Please however store in a cool dry environment where possible.
Q: Do I need to prepare the area before painting?	A: You must remove any large loose particles of rust and make sure the area is clean of oil/grease or dirt.
Q: Can I paint over rust?	A: Yes blackout can be painted over rust to treat it, prime and paint it.
Q: How many coats are required?	A: Normally just one coat is required to do the job however if you feel another is necessary, a second coat can be applied after the the first coat is fully cured.
Q: Where shouldn't I use it?	A: Polypropylene Plastics & Anodised Aluminium.
Q: Will blackout peel or flake over time?	A: No Blackout remains permanently flexible
Q: What size tin does Blackout come in?	A: Blackout comes in a 1ltr & 2.5ltr Tin

Well, worth every penny

I used this to paint our rusty garden BBQ, paint black door hinges on our motorhome, paint a steel frame in the garden, an unglazed ceramic bowl. Once I used it I realised how versatile and useful it is. Lovely consistent matt finish with just one coat. Best to decant and keep lid on main pot during hot weather. The plasticised paint goes around curves and cracks wonderfully and it's water tight afterwards. Don't know how I managed without it! Can think of loads more uses.

S Fixx Flexi Coat

I bought a tub to see if it matched the hype, and it does, I`ve been trying to sort a budget fix on some gutters to save the charity some money without having to take them all down and start again. This did the trick and so far no more reports of drips, I also used it on the wooden gate which were beginning to crack but this seems to have sealed them also. So I`ve just ordered two more tubs when I got a deal from them, The only thing is that they said they had `white` on the website, but they haven`t had any for years. A great pity becuse I have a job for it where black will not do. So I`m looking for something to do that with, but obviously not at Flexi Coat.

Fantastic Paint

Painted my garden chairs, they had chips and odd patches of rust.
This paint goes on so easy and you end up with such a professional finish, they look wonderful.

I bought this product to see if it was as good as the presenter’s said. Well it was absolutely amazing it covers in one coat and the finish looks amazing and professional!! I’ve used it on metal and wooden doors this frame is 30 years old looks like new now

I have bought this paint before because it dose the job that other paints can’t cover now my neighbour has asked me to purchase him some he has bought 3tins so far
